The resilience of the Ukrainian people in the face of Russian military aggression has manifested itself in the proliferation of humorous discourse related to the war. The project aims to document Ukrainian wartime humor in its various forms––including, but not limited to jokes, memes, comedy, humorous poems and songs. The collected material will be systematized according to genre, theme, ways of achieving a comic effect, the object of laughter, etc. Furthermore, a linguocultural analysis will be carried out in order to identify the functions (such as cognitive, evaluative, communicative, emotional or ideological) performed by such humor. While the project is primarily aimed at an academic audience, potentially providing a resource for future scholars of the war, its results will also be accessible to the broader public.
