The project aims to trace the evolution of the usage of visual depictions of gratuitous gore in Ukrainian vernacular humor from the beginning of the full-scale invasion until the present. It analyzes humorously manipulated photographs and videos, internet memes, screenshots from messenger apps, etc., generated and posted by Ukrainian accounts on social media (primarily, on Twitter/X and Telegram, which have more relaxed policies regarding gratuitous gore) since 24 February 2022.
