The project Ukrainian Childhood in the Face of War is the continuation of the project Ukrainian Childhood Facing War and Displacement: A Life Story Project, which began in April this year in cooperation with the War Childhood Museum (Kyiv) and the Hannah Arendt Institute for Totalitarianism Studies (Dresden) (May-June 2022). The purpose of the project is to document the experiences of displacement of children and their caregivers outside of Ukraine as a result of the Russo-Ukrainian War. Before talking to the children, the project includes interviews with various groups of adults who are accompanying the children: parents, grandparents, and other caregivers, as well as activists and volunteers in the countries these people are displaced to. Along with the interviews, the project will document the objects that children brought with them, as objects often hold great emotional significance, inspire children's imaginations, and give support.
