Documenting Ukraine Grants
This project aims to gain profound insights into the experiences and perspectives of scholars impacted by the war. As a tangible outcome of this documentary endeavor, we will collect the dreams of Ukrainian scholars, conducting at least 40 interviews with scholars/residents from diverse age groups and social and cultural backgrounds. These interviews will also delve into nocturnal experiences during times of war, underscoring how societal norms and behaviors differ between nighttime and daytime hours and the subsequent impact on individuals' attitudes, values, and interactions. Exploring the repercussions of nighttime war experiences on individuals and communities is a pivotal aspect of this study. This includes considerations of well-being, mental health, social cohesion, and the potential positive or negative outcomes stemming from nocturnal social activities. We are also developing and implementing a course syllabus, which will be presented at the Ukrainian Catholic University for regular teaching.
