On 24 February, 2022, the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine began. Civilians, military personnel and journalists capture photos and film of the war unfolding. Part of this content ends up on social media. Some of the materials go viral thanks to Telegram channels and other social networks; however, the majority of them remain unknown with very few views.
This project involves scouring social media for such materials by using tried and tested search algorithms. We are interested in open-source archive videos filmed by civilians during the full-scale Russian invasion. We meticulously watch thousands of videos and look for bloggers who document their lives amid war. Ultimately, we plan to create a documentary using selected materials.
