"Sounds of War" is an ongoing project aimed at collecting and documenting the sounds of war in Ukraine since the Russian invasion in February 2022. The project has captured various sounds of war, including rocket hits, gun fighting, tank movements, motor engines, stories of refugees, songs of Ukrainians, and music played in bomb shelters. The project aims to finish and release/publish these field recordings with descriptions to make them available to researchers and artists. These recordings can then be utilized in various cultural and cross-cultural projects such as museum exhibitions, theater plays, movie productions, podcasts, radio and TV programs, and talk shows. The project aligns with the mission of Documenting Ukraine and will serve as a valuable resource for artists, researchers, historians, and educators interested in understanding the impact of war on individuals and communities.
