This is a project documenting the destruction of civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, caused by the Russian aggression, and highlighting stories of resilience and recovery. Since its launch in November 2022, the team has published over 450 accounts of destroyed homes, schools, cultural sites, and others. In collaboration with human rights organizations, the project collects testimonies, systematizes evidence of war crimes, and creates multimedia materials to amplify these voices globally.
In 2024, the project expanded to interactive formats, including “Neighbors: Our Home Destroyed by Russia,” which portrays the lives and losses of residents in a bombed Odesa building. The next initiative will focus on a Ukrainian village devastated by war, featuring infographics, videos, and resident stories.
Through visualizations, interactive landing pages, and social media content, Sviy Dim humanizes statistics, raises awareness, supports human rights advocacy, and contributes to efforts for accountability and rebuilding.
