On February 24th, 2022, when Russia began an armed invasion of Ukraine, I was forced to move out of Kharkiv to Lviv, like many other displaced people. This prompted me to engage with the topic that I have been working on since March, that of displaced Ukrainians and how they are re-inventing their daily life in new places, leaving behind their homes, jobs and their past lives. I visit shelters, houses and apartments inhabited by IDPs and through photography I document how they live, their household and relationships with those who ended up in the same space as them.
