Gender plays a fundamental role in migration processes; being a Stranger due to her origin, a migrant woman is also an Other due to her gender, which results in the risk of her double exclusion. Many women that had to flee Ukraine because of war experience their strangeness and otherness in countries that are not their own. The Museum of Ukrainian Female Migration is an art-research project that documents the variety of female experiences and issues related to their situation of being Other, such as feelings of home, belonging, and identity. Based on oral herstories, this platform is supposed to become a structurized archive of data and research materials related to the topic of Ukrainian female forced migration. Clicking on interactive maps, the viewer will be able to go on an emotional journey, and hear very personal stories of different women who escaped the war.
