Book on Rebuilding Ukraine After War

“The Book on Rebuilding Ukraine after War” is a project aimed at collecting and documenting cases of cities that have been rebuilt after catastrophic events. The goal is to provide inspiration and motivation for architects, urban planners, city authorities, activists, and city communities in Ukraine as they work to rebuild their cities after the war. The project is being led by Kateryna Kozlova, an architectural writer, and Volodymyr Konoshevych, an editor and journalist. The book will feature interviews with experts who have researched or contributed to the reconstruction of cities after war or natural disasters. The team will draw conclusions about how each case relates to the Ukrainian situation and write a book featuring texts and interviews about each city. The book will be published and distributed in Ukrainian. The project has so far completed eight interviews, which were published in the Bird in Flight magazine, and will feature three more interviews that will not be published online. The project’s significance lies in the lessons that can be learned from the tragedies of human history, which can bring about positive change.
