The Ukrainian city of Mariupol has been on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe since the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion. It has endured encirclement, blockade, and constant enemy shelling. The residents of the city survived the horrors of the blockade, underwent mandatory evacuation, and had to start anew in different cities and countries. The aim of the project is to document and honor the experiences of Mariupol residents by conducting 25 interviews with those who have displayed resilience in overcoming these struggles and succeeding in their professional lives. Through personal stories of Mariupol residents in exile, the project stands testament to the resoluteness of Ukrainians. The end results of the project—an archive of stories, electronic book, and scientific paper—are meant to preserve these stories and inspire Ukrainians to carry on fighting for their future and independence of Ukraine.
