The main goal of my project is to showcase the human stories of locals staying in the destroyed cities and villages liberated during the Fall of 2022 in the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions. Through photography, I want to show people's challenges and problems a year after the liberation of Izium , Sviatohirsk, Kupiansk, and Lyman—how they find relief, and how they are preparing for a second long and brutal winter of war

Documenting Ukraine Grants
Since the first days of the invasion, I have been documenting Russia's war against Ukraine. In February and March, I photographed stories about people amid war—bomb shelters, hospitals and maternity homes, volunteer initiatives, volunteer units, evacuation from hotspots, etc. When the territories north of Kyiv were liberated from the invaders, I plunged into documenting the destruction and war crimes there. I filmed in Bucha, Borodyanka, Chernihiv, in villages in Sumy Oblast and Kyiv Oblast, and everywhere people found it very important to recount their experience of the occupation. Now I am continuing my work in the east and south of Ukraine. Among the topics my photos depict are soldiers on the front lines, de-occupied villages, war crimes, and the destruction of our cities by the Russian invaders. I aim to create a photo history of the Russo-Ukrainian war from the first to the last weeks.
