GRANTEE
The objective of the project The Blue Sweater With a Yellow Hole is to provide a voice for Ukrainian children who have successfully returned from Russian so called “re-education” camps. The unlawful relocations and deportations, accompanied by identity alterations, continue to occur. In this ongoing initiative, we gather information and data concerning the conditions within these camps and the methods employed to erase the children's Ukrainian identities.
The collected interviews will be used for three equally important sub-projects:
1. A protected database with transcriptions and translations of the interviews for academic research
2. Circumstantial evidence for the International Criminal Court in The Hague
3. An animated documentary film for advocacy in bringing the children back to Ukraine
