Aleksandra Brajovič is a student of the Master's Program Slavonic Studies at the University of Vienna, in her final phase. Her master thesis „Первое учение [...] називаемое Буквар у контексту просветитељске делатности Захарије Орфелина“ („Pervoe učenie [...] nazivaemoe Bukvar in the context of Zaharija Orfelin's enlightenment activity”) is dedicated to the Slavonic-Serbian language as the language of literacy among Serbs in southern Hungary in the eighteenth century. This language can serve as a depiction of the prevailing values of its era, representing an amalgam of the European Enlightenment movement and Russian influence in one and the same Serbian culture. In her thesis, Aleksandra touches upon one of the pioneers of Serbian Enlightenment, Zaharija Orfelin, in the context of his epoch, with the focus on language specifics of his opus. In the center of her scientific interest lies one of his primers. Its analysis combines all levels of the language (graphematics, morphology, syntax, lexicon), as well as their exhausting description and attribution.
