I work on diplomatic/epistemic boundary cultures in the field of international security. Currently, I study how diplomatic/epistemic boundary cultures evolve differently within different geopolitical interest constellations. To this end, I compare three monitoring mechanisms mandated by the UN Security Council, targeting small arms trafficking, nuclear proliferation, and terrorism, respectively. I draw from international political sociology, science and technology studies, and practice theory.
