At the heart of ancient philosophy is the question of how we should live. It’s the only in-depth discussion of the good life (eudaimonia) and its psychological, political, epistemological, and metaphysical conditions in the Western tradition. It also remains our best framework to think through fundamental moral, existential, and social questions, a framework especially important today as extreme weather, toppled statues, #MeToo rage, populist upheaval, pandemic disruption, economic inequality, among others, have thrown us into deep confusion.
