Claire Perryman-Holt

The aim of my project is to show how history becomes a ‘question’ in the 20th century. I intend to study how the phenomenological treatments of history in Heidegger’s and Patočka’s works lead to a renewal of the debate on the philosophy of action and to the construction of an innovative concept of freedom (i.e. one that does not fall into the aporia of historical determinism).
