My project seeks to comprehend how certain ideas, practices and relations of power have historically assembled around flows of phosphate in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and how these were (re)defined and (re)negotiated in the context of neoliberal capitalism. Through an ethnography of the Jordanian phosphate industry, the project shows how neoliberal capitalism affect Jordanian peoples’ lives and the way they construe the state
