This project focuses on the current developments in the professionalization of social work in the countries of the former Soviet Union, and on the roles which the state, NGOs and civil society, as well as international influences play in this.. The study highlights both shared and country-specific features of the development of social work after the dissolution of the socialist bloc. The study is based on the analysis of the available literature and on interviews with social work experts.
