My research deals with the written and oral academic discourse of the Austrian variant of German. The project analyzes how morphological and syntactic characteristics of Austrian scientific and educational texts have developed under the influence of social and cultural factors such as student mobility, globalization of science and education, the guiding role of German as a language of science, and education about the construction of the cultural and linguistic identity of the participants of academic discourse.
