Ernst Hanisch

Professor of History, University of Salzburg, was finishing a larger project on the political currents in the Habsburg Monarchy which was later published in the publication series Habsburgermonarchie 1848-1918 edited by the Austrian Academy of Sciences. Further he started a new project on the history of masculinity in 20th century Austria. A pilot study entitled “Die Männlichkeit des Kriegers. Das österreichische Militärstrafrecht im Ersten Weltkrieg” appeared in 1999.
