At the center of this study lies a comparative study of the forms and means of the representations of the democratic idea in modern India, Russia and the EU. The notion of a representational typology refers not only to a particular self-identification of modes/ regimes, but also to the complex symbolism of the cultural and intellectual heritage, used not only to represent the democratic power but also to justify its legitimacy.
