Illia Chedoluma

The figure of Mykhailo Rudnytskyi shows how the history of generations influences the formation of personality, as well as the different strategies and behaviors of intellectuals in periods of socio-political transformation. A well-known publicist from a mixed Ukrainian-Jewish family, Rudnytskyi escaped the attention of most researchers of the Ukrainian twentieth century for a long time. Rudnytskyi’s life opened the curtain on one of the least-known episodes in history––the fate of Ukrainian liberalism.
