Kieran Hegarty

This project develops, tests, and shares new methods to incorporate data subjects’ decision-making into the design, management, and study of digital archives. Building on his PhD research on web archiving, Kieran Hegarty develops and tests methods of "source ethnography," where website creators are engaged in a process of storytelling and reflection on the inclusion of their personal website in publicly available web archives. Findings will be used to develop methodological principles for the ethical development, management, and use of digital archives.
