Mate Veres

My project aims at examining various authors, especially Epicurus, Cicero, and Sextus Empiricus, with regard to concepts recently used to describe their respective theological positions: e.g. religion as an expressive theory of morality, the operative sense of non-dogmatic theology, and the relation of philosophical inquiry to ordinary religious understanding. I also intend to work on the same classical authors as possible sources of David Hume‘s critique of natural theology.
