Situated within a 20-month-long ethnography, this research scrutinizes the effects of increasing funds for refugee-related projects on local NGOs and queer refugees in Turkey. As Turkey became the country with the largest number of refugees in the world, because of the Syrian War, international funds for refugees increased, with the result of (I argue) the integration of local NGOs into the transnational governance of refugees and their sexualities and gender identities.
