In the 20th century the global processes within the development of the world community were the cause of the general re-thinking of the relations between different regions. My project researches the evolution of the conception of colonialism as an institutionalized system of inequality. It aims to determine the main conflict between colonial conceptions in the traditional colonial and post-colonial historiography. Furthermore it dwells on the question of how social inequality sources are perceived by repressed/dependent communities using the example of India and its “political classes” stemming from the colonial system.
