The aim of the project is to conduct research regarding the development of socio-political crises in the Eastern Bloc (e.g., the East German uprising of 1953; the Hungarian Revolution of 1956; the Prague Spring of 1968; and the Polish crises of 1956, 1966, 1968, 1970, 1976 and 1980–1981), which served as an amplifier for both the expansion of internal political processes in the Ukrainian SSR and the increase in tensions in Ukrainian society from the second half of the 1950s to the 1980s.
