Oleksandra Buzko

The project focuses on the interesting and not widely known biography of the prominent Ukrainian scholar, archaeologist and art historian, Mariia Vyazmitina. In the 1940s, she was the head of the expedition team working at the New Nisa settlement (ancient Parthia). Oleksandra Buzko sees the culmination of her work on this topic as a book containing Vyazmitina’s letters from her excavations in Turkmenistan, her article about Parthian warriors and war elephants in Nisa, as well as various sketches and drawings. In addition, Buzko aims to translate the book into English.
