Three cities, three different conflicts where civilians are trapped by the same circumstances. Their lives, which they used to identify with, now belong to the past and in the midst of war, they must promptly find themselves in order to survive. In his book, Pieniążek examines the motivations behind certain displays of cognizance and behavior in civilians and communities found in conflict zones in Afghanistan, Nagorno-Karabakh, and Ukraine.
