This project is aimed at a philosophical clarification of the nature of violence, namely its justification, its goals, and its effectiveness. The problem is that despite a long-standing condemnation of violent acts, the nature of violence remains unclear. The project involves finding an approach to explaining the meaning of violent actions as such, focusing on the reasons for the constant recourse to violent actions not only by individuals, but also political institutions and structures.
