The project will proceed in two stages. The first consists in an attempt to fix the object: what are the distinctive features of the ‘moral’ dimension of experience and practice? What distinguishes moral from other social norms? The second and main stage will explore what a sociological approach contributes to answering questions concerning the relations between moral norms and various fields of social life, including markets, the law, and the exercise of and resistance to power.
