FellowshipsEssay is the perfect form to reflect and understand the history of European philosophical thinking. A master essayist like Földényi is more than a match for this task. His free associations and cultural references that span all eras and types of art are equally a real challenge and pleasure for the thinking person. It is a challenge because of the wide range of associations, cited literature, musical works, paintings and sculptures and medical knowledge that require translation. In 2021, his essay “Dostoyevsky Reads Hegel in Siberia and Bursts into Tears” was published in the literary magazine Stranitza (2/2021). The great reception of this piece paved the way for Földényi’s famous book "Melancholy." The SONM Publishing House has an affinity for critical and philosophical literature, and the book will be published in a series with authors like Henri Bergson, Johan Huizinga, Jose Ovejero and Marek Bienczyk.
