Since February 24, 2022, Kharkiv has been mercilessly and brutally shelled; numerous cultural monuments have been destroyed or badly damaged. They include the Hryhorii Skovoroda National Literary-Memorial Museum and Kharkiv Art Museum. The project “Sloboda Chronicles of Cultural Resistance” is dedicated to recording the courageous resistance in Kharkiv. Despite heavy strikes, shelling and battles, the personnel of H.S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University have continued to organize and support the educational process, uniting to jointly carry out educational, voluntary and other activities. The chronicle will focus on the teaching staff who bravely stayed in Kharkiv and continued working there, those who protected the university assets and documents, those who rescued students under shellfire, and volunteers who brought food, medical supplies, etc. Parallels will be drawn between the organization of art education during the Kharkiv occupation in 1941–1943 and the current situation.
