Thomas Carroll

At IWM I am studying Ludwig Wittgenstein's remarks on religion. To better appreciate Wittgenstein’s religious context, I am researching the history of Viennese Jewish culture and the social conditions under which some families converted to Catholicism. A second part of my research concerns the concept of social trust, a pre-condition for linguistic communication in Wittgenstein’s philosophy.
