Umut Kuruüzüm

During his fellowship period at the IWM, Umut Kuruüzüm will be working on an academic paper focusing on the recent expansion of mini steel mills which produce steel from recycling war scrap in Iraqi Kurdistan under wider conditions of the war economy in Iraq. The paper is a part of a wider academic effort by IWM Permanent Fellow Ayşe Çağlar for a special issue on "Accumulation and Temporality: Special Issue on the Economies of Global Warfare" based on a panel participation at EASA 2020 on "The Continuum of War: Narration, Accumulation, and Dispossession in Transnational War Economy".
