I investigate the popular unrest in the Kingdom of Poland between 1905 and 1907 as a constitutive factor in ongoing developments of the public sphere. I analyze the transformation of militant selves imprinted in biographies, the new forms of public participation, as well as the modes of making political claims and the political visibility of workers. Integrating historical sociology and conceptual history, the project sheds light on the historically changing realm of the political.
