Since its creation in March of 2022, the Documenting Ukraine research program has supported more than 300 projects of Ukrainian scholars, journalists, public intellectuals, artists, and archivists. Behind each project—whether it is a documentary film, a book, or a policy paper—are people who bring those ideas to life.
Therefore, with this series of videos, we want to spotlight the amazing work of these "full-time" Ukrainians.
The interviews with Documenting Ukraine grantees are a tribute to all those documenting the Russo-Ukrainian War. In these videos, they reflect on their projects, the psychological challenges of work during the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the fostering of meaningful human relationships, and the evolution of Ukrainian society and culture in general.
