We are pleased to announce the new cohort of grantees selected for the Documenting Ukraine Grant.

Their projects explore a wide range of topics of the Russo-Ukrainian War, covering challenges in Ukrainian school education, environmental consequences of the war, as well as minority issues and aspects of trauma and rehabilitation. Equally diverse as the topics are the approaches and methods the projects employ, including academic analyses, documentary films, podcasts, exhibitions, and photo projects. By supporting these projects, we remain committed to documenting the wide spectrum of the Ukrainian experience and to preserving an accurate record of this war.

You can visit our website to learn more about the grantees and their projects. A playlist of interviews with Documenting Ukraine grantees reflecting on their projects is also available on our YouTube channel:

Documenting Ukraine is an IWM research project that seeks to contribute to creating a record of the Russo-Ukrainian War, capturing the human experience of that war, and making it accessible and comprehensible to the broader world. Through the project, the IWM supports scholars, journalists, public intellectuals, artists, and archivists based in Ukraine as they work on documentation projects that establish and preserve a factual record—whether through reporting, gathering published source material, or collecting oral testimony—or that bring meaning to events through intellectual reflection and artistic interpretation.
