Documenting Ukraine is an IWM research project that seeks to contribute to creating a record of the Russo-Ukrainian War, capturing the human experience of that war, and making it accessible and comprehensible to the broader world. The project's own subsite has now been published.
Through Documenting Ukraine, the IWM supports scholars, journalists, public intellectuals, artists, and archivists based in Ukraine as they work on documentation projects that establish and preserve a factual record, whether through reporting, gathering published source material, or collecting oral testimony; or that bring meaning to events through intellectual reflection and artistic interpretation.
Ultimately, the materials collected and produced through these projects will be housed in a complex, transdisciplinary archive.
Katherine Younger, IWM Permanent Fellow and head of the project, says the following about the research project and its website release:
Since we initiated Documenting Ukraine in March, I have been continually impressed by the scope of the initiatives and insight of our colleagues in Ukraine as they work to create a record of the Ukrainian experience of the Russo-Ukrainian War. Their work is invaluable, and we are very proud to be launching the Documenting Ukraine website to bring their stories together under one umbrella. We hope that visitors to the site spend some time exploring the projects we are supporting, getting a sense for the diversity of approaches and the unifying themes that cross traditional disciplinary boundaries.

Ми запустили Documenting Ukraine у березні, невдовзі після початку повномасштабного вторгнення.
