The research analyses the significance of the location of forced migrants in Eskisehir, Turkey, a deindustrialized city attempting to position itself with cultural and educational industries. Eskisehir is part of the satellite city system designed to provide temporary residence for refugees before their resettlement, shaping their inclusion and exclusion from the social, economic, and political life of the city, determining the opportunity structures and institutional resources available to them.
