Kristof Jacobs works as a PhD-student at the Political Sciences section of the Radboud University of Nijmegen (NL). He studies democratic reforms, or more specifically changes in local and national electoral, participatory and referendum legislation in Belgium, the Netherlands and Austria. He focuses on government periods from 1987 onwards. The aim of the PhD is to examine how these changes can be explained. He will focus on the role of political parties, ideological concerns and public demand for such changes.
