The correspondence between Irena Kronska and Jan Patocka is a great document of intellectual life in the countries of the Soviet bloc during the 1960s and early 1970s. As both of them find themselves in difficult life circumstances, their friendship deepens and, especially after 1968, becomes very intense. The letters shed crucial light on Patocka’s poorly known contacts with Polish philosophers.
