FellowshipsThis project focuses on fantasy artisanal post-Soviet toys and military miniatures of the 1990s, which were considered gender-specific for boys.
This issue was characterized by the diffusion of Western trends into the Soviet toy industry, as well as a synthesis of two cultural paradigms. The collaboration of artists and technologists in the context of industrial collapse and the financial crisis of the post-Soviet space led to chaos and a complete shift in the narratives of education as well. This influenced plasticity and the archetypes of toys.
It is especially worth noting that it is the generation whose puberty was in the mid-1990s – early 2000s that today is the most culturally representative in the analysis of the ideological aspects of the current war. In the history of childhood, we can find the roots of some causes of today's ideological conflict between Ukraine, Russia, and Belarus.
