Ludwik Fleck’s essay The Genesis and Development of a Scientific Fact was published in 1935. Today, Fleck is well-known as a theoretician of epistemology and the developer of his own system of the sociology of science. The international research community pays particular attention to his concepts of Denkkollektiv (’thought collective’) and Denkstil (’style of thought’). With my translation I intend to make Fleck’s ideas better accessible to the scientific community in the Ukraine, the country Ludwik Fleck was born in and where he worked until World War II.
