The project aims to translate a book that is a narration as well as a profound analysis of South-Eastern European history. The authors cover political and social history, including key issues like center and periphery, folklore and religious practices, juridical culture, family and kinship, compulsory migrations, ethnic cleansing and remembrance. The book represents the latest historiographical achievements on this stigmatized region that comprehensively explain most of its peculiarities in the past and shed light on its present.
