Kornelia Slavova

My project involves the translation into Bulgarian of Donna Dickenson’s book Body Shopping: Converting Body Parts to Profit (2009). I believe it will provoke the Bulgarian readers’ critical thinking around many serious issues, such as: body as capital in a consumer society, global politics, justice and freedom of choice, and others. The translation poses a challenge as the text is truly interdisciplinary, bringing together approaches from cultural studies, feminist theory, philosophy, health-care ethics, bioethics and law.
