Charlotte Thomas

My research explores Muslim politics in India. Among other dynamics, I put political behaviors of Indian Muslims in perspective with their widespread perceptions of being discriminated in their homeland. My PhD documented the socio-political and spatial reorganization of the Muslim minority of Ahmedabad (Gujarat) after the 2002 anti-Muslim violence. I am now focusing on the political mobilizations of Muslims in Kashmir and in Hyderabad.
