Leo Schlöndorff

The project’s objective is to analyze the relation of fiction and science in the field of apocalyptic modern and postmodern literary and scientific production. Some of the leading questions concern the apocalyptic motifs used, the functions of the narratives, and the discursive context of apocalyptic narration. The project is embedded in an interdisciplinary team of five PhD researchers (two historians, one media scientist, and two literary scholars). The aim of the collaboration is to explore apocalyptic discourses in various historical contexts from ancient times to the present.
