Program
During her stay at the IWM, Ola Hnatiuk plans to collect and compile archival materials on the activities of the Interfaith and International Committee to Help the Territories of the Soviet Union Suffering from Hunger (1933–1935). The committee, established by Theodor Cardinal Innitzer at the request of Metropolitan Andrei Sheptytsky, played an important role in spreading the word about the artificial famine in German and English-speaking countries. Hnatiuk’s project will be focused on cooperation between the key figures of this committee: Cardinal Innitzer, archbishop of Vienna, David Feuchtwang, chief rabbi of Vienna (1933–1936), and Ewald Ammende, honorary secretary.
